Hoity Toity BABY BLANKIES

May 28, 2007

As a mother of multiples I know just how lucky I am that the day I was released from the hospital my little Jake & Laney were released too. Their Daddy and I were able to watch them drift off to sleep in their bassinet at the foot of our bed that night. Born at 37 1/2 weeks and weighing 6.8 & 6.4 lbs we beat the odds! We were fortunate! Not all are that lucky. As I sat holding my sweet bundles of joy and waiting for Mr. HTB to bring the car around I was quickly reminded just how lucky we were. A woman was wheeled next to me going home empty handed. She too had given birth to twins but they were too tiny to come home and would spend some time in the NICU.

Now, as my little peanuts approach their 3rd birthday just as happy & healthy as they were back then, I feel the urge to give back. Hoity Toity BABY is now accepting donations to help fund Hoity Toity BABY BLANKIES. For a donation (or group of donations) equalling $13.00 a warm and cozy crocheted baby blanket will be donated in both your name and Hoity Toity BABY's name to NICU's around the country. Help blanket these little miracles in warmth and love and donate today!

Any amount helps!

Please donate!

  6. R~ isn't it wonderful that people care enough to give. I have started on the first blankie and I'll tell you....with twins...it may take me a month to finish it...but I will. The local hospital here has agreed to accept the blankies and it makes me feel good to know that someone's little love will be wrapped in warmth!

  7. Let me know if you need another place to donate blankets. I have a charity in honor of my daughter and we are in the process of creating "Care Bags" for NICU families at Jefferson University Hospital here in Philly. I want to put blankets in the bags so that families have a soft and colorful blanket to brighten up the cribs and warmers. When our daughter was in the NICU for two months, that made such a difference! It humanized our sweet little baby among the tubes, wires, and needles-- and brought us much comfort. What a great project you are doing. Thanks, from all the NICU moms out here!
