Today's Favorite Thing , in my opinion, is the greatest gift we can give our children. The gift of imagination and story!
Kids Write Books is a subsidiary of Cherish Bound, a writing program, that encourages children to write "their" story! Kari over at The Snail's Trail believed in the program so much, that she "created Kids Write Books and adapted the original classroom version of I Am An Author for use with homeschoolers, scout and youth groups, after~school programs and other non~school programs to help promote literacy and story telling to children!" And not only is it perfect for the programs I spoke about above IT'S PERFECT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Kids Write Books {and Cherish Bound} takes the idea of storytelling to families and children everywhere. It helps to connect generations through the power of story and allows your little author to write his or her own.

When I found Kari I instantly thought of my friend's daughter, Shelby, and her love of reading and writing! Kari was kind enough to offer me the opportunity of gifting Shelby the chance to bring one of her stories to life. And as of today, Shelby is working to finish her book {including illustrations}.
