Hi all! It's been a week since my last post (this sounds like a confessional) and while not a lot has happened around here we have all spent the last week with colds. I'm happy to report that we are felling better and are trying to get back into the swing of things.
Delaney is 99.9% potty trained! It's fantastic! I say 99.9% because she has and adversity to poopin' (as she calls it) in the potty. She will actually come to me and tell me that she needs a diaper so she can poop. I'm not sure what that is about, but my good friend, Carol, says her girls were the same way. So I am not pushing it with Laney. She has stayed dry EVERY single night since we started this so there are no more diapers at night at all! I am so proud of her! She's getting to be such a big girl that a few more weeks/months of dealing with one diaper a day is ok with me.
Jake on the other hand.....NOT INTERESTED AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to push it. He'll do it when he's ready. And now is obviously not the time! But he is fantastic! He doesn't like to share much with his sister but he's a sensitive, sweet, loving little guy that loves to laugh and is totally and completely into cars, spaceships and dinosaurs. When I look at him I can't believe how lucky I am to be his Mommy. He loves to cuddle and is my little Mama's boy and I am very happy with that!
Delaney is dancing, singing and twirling her way around the house. I am torn between wanting to put her in dance (which I believe she is totally ready for) and putting her in soccer or T-ball with Jake. I really believe that a little girl needs dance. And although I love to watch men who can dance I simply cannot bring myself to put Jake in dance with Laney. On the other hand I don't want Laney to miss out on dance and the thought of putting them in 2 separate activities already is a daunting thought. But I guess I'd better get used to that fact. I have a life time of them with separate interests ahead of me!
On the Hoity Toity BABY {the shoppe} front I have been compiling a list of new items to add that will expand the inventory of the shop. I will be removing some of the current clothing items and will be streamlining what I am offering in that regard to those items that sell the best. Some of the new categories will include things for the home, mom, and stuffed toys. So stay tuned for that!
As February lurks around the corner Mr. HTB and I gear up to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, Valentines Day and my birthday. The other night we were able to sneak out to see the movie It's Complicated {which was hilarious} and as we drove home we were talking about the fact that our 5th anniversary is coming up. It seems like yesterday we were planning our wedding. Then I reminded him that in April we will celebrate being together for 9 years! Time really does fly when you're having fun. And lets face it....it flies by even when you're NOT having fun! So the first half of this year will be a busy one for the Hoity's! Here's a calendar of events for us:
February 13th: My birthday
February 14th: Valentine's Day
February 19th: Wedding anniversary
March 9: Mr. HTB's birthday
March: Enroll Jake & Laney in Pre~School
March: Get 2nd bedroom ready for Jake
May 25th: Jake & Laney's birthday
The next few months will be full of things to do and to plan. I'm already starting to think of a theme for Jake & Laney's birthday party. Before I know it....their birthday will be behind us and Summer will be here in full force! Time Flies!
